Made by welding Automotive industry Welding in the automotive industry in general The first welded cars The automotive industry began to take shape at the end of the 19th century. century. The first automobiles were mostly hand-made and the joining of the individual components was done with screws, rivets and forge welding. As production developed and new technologies were introduced, welding began to play an increasingly important role. Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, was one of the pioneers of the modern automobile industry. His Model T, launched in 1908, was the first mass-produced by car. Ford’s production lines, which were introduced in 1913, significantly increased production efficiency and welding became a key technology in joining the parts of the car. The modern era of welding in the automotive industry With the advent of automation and robotics in the 1980s. a 90. 20s. Welding has become even more efficient. Robotic welding systems enable fast, accurate and repeatable welding, which has significantly increased the quality and speed of automotive production. Welding in today’s automotive industry Today, welding is an integral part of car manufacturing. Modern welding techniques include advanced methods such as laser welding, ultrasonic welding and hybrid welding, which combine different technologies to achieve optimum results. The automotive industry is constantly looking for new ways to improve the quality and efficiency of welding processes. This includes not only developing new technologies and materials, but also training and certifying welders to be able to work with the latest techniques and procedures. The history of welding in the automotive industry shows how important this technology is for vehicle production. From the first hand-built cars to modern robotic production lines, welding has played a key role in joining metal components and ensuring the safety, reliability and quality of cars. It cannot be denied that one of the key moments in the history of the automotive industry is the creation of the first welded car. This breakthrough in manufacturing technology not only changed the way cars are made, but also showed the important role welding plays in the world of modern manufacturing. In the following weeks we will go into more detail on specific periods, welded parts, etc. We have lots of interesting topics for you. Community section Interview with Václav Guzy We were discussing the topic PC Position (Electrode) – Thick-walled material Hey, Bro, let’s do this, huh? Hey Bro, we can 🙂 What kind of material is it? This is P91 steel – high pressure material What kind of electrodes did you use? The customer we got directly wired for this material, I don’t know the detailed specs. It was already chrome wire. You got a lot of layers, don’t you? 🙂 Well, yeah, it was endless at times. And how long have you been doing this? One all day, but you just drive and drive. But it’s okay, because after the root, I’m already taking size 4 electrodes, and that’s enough material for one layer. And how did you cook the root? Tig and Argon. And the other layers? TIG root, then the next 2 layers also TIG and then just electrode. And how many layers are there? Look, I don’t even know, we have 8 layers of cover, but this wasn’t about aesthetics, it was about functionality. After I welded it up like that, I sanded it all flat and insulated it. It was a client request. So the aesthetics were not the issue. Just the quality needed classically. So, well… it then went to the UT test, so it was better for them. You don’t do x-rays because it’s very broad material. And what are you grinding it with? We use a classic grinding wheel and then use the “Lamelak” for alignment. And you’re going all the way to the size 4 cover electrodes ? Hey yeah, only with the cover I do the last top layer with 3,2 electrodes to prevent inflammation. She’s already pretty hot at that point. Great, and then the insulation went in? Yeah. There’s a lot of isolation on top of that. There’s a lot of steam in there, so pressures of 150 bar etc. So it’s got to be a quality weld and quality insulation. Great and thanks a lot for the information, very nice work and I look forward to the next interview ! Yeah, me too! Produkty Dear friends, we already have our own products available on our website.
